Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee resumes its commitment to probe further allegations that KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has made, adjourned last month after hearing evidence from some witnesses.
The committee is set to receive a report on cases in which forensic investigator Paul O’Sullivan is accused of influencing the justice system.
O’Sullivan also allegedly sent a threatening message to the Police Minister’s Chief of Staff, Cedrick Nkabinde, when he was testifying before the committee.
During his testimony before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee in Cape Town in 2025, Nkabinde accused forensic investigator O’Sullivan of wielding huge influence in the criminal justice system.
During his statement before the committee, Mkhwanazi claimed O’Sullivan may be an agent to destabilise the country.
Nkabinde told the committee that O’Sullivan has a huge influence that prevented him from being appointed to a position in SAPS.
