ANC PRESIDENTIAL GOLF DAY TARGETS PARTY’S FINANCIAL CRISIS

As the ANC grapples with a severe financial crisis, the party is hosting its annual presidential golf day today to raise funds.

The event forms part of the ANC’s 114th anniversary celebrations in Rustenburg, North West Province.

Party president Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to tee off at the fundraising golf event at Sun City this morning, as the party seeks to boost its coffers.

Just last month, unpaid ANC workers took to the streets to demonstrate against unpaid salaries.

Some of the workers also claimed that the ANC had not paid some of their employee benefits in months, such as the provident fund and medical aid contributions.

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa is teeing off at a golf fundraising event with donors today, in hopes of saving the party from its financial sinking ship.

“It just goes to show the enthusiasm and the support that many business people are giving to the ANC, and we are really humbled and heartened by the level of support that they are showing the ANC. So this is a fundraising golf day, and the treasurer general is going to be raising tons of money. They don’t have to declare because they are paying to play golf with the president.”

Ramaphosa is set to conduct door-to-door campaigns later today as part of the party’s birthday celebrations.
