The vibrant and empowering annual celebration, Basadi Ka Dituku (Women in Headwraps), returns on 6 December 2025 at the Soweto Theatre, Jabulani Precinct, under the bold theme “We Will Not Be Silenced!”

This year’s edition stands in solidarity with the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, shining a light on the urgent need to end the abuse of women and children. Through music, art, culture, dialogue, and sisterhood, the event provides a platform where women can unite to speak out, heal, and reclaim their voices.

In addition to entertainment, the event emphasizes education, empowerment, and advocacy. Through partnerships with organizations and activists, attendees will have access to information and resources addressing gender-based violence, women’s safety, and financial independence.

Basadi Ka Dituku is committed to uplifting local women-owned businesses and artists, providing them with opportunities to exhibit, network, and grow within the creative economy. Over 200 jobs are expected to be created through this initiative, supporting Soweto’s local economic development.
