KAIZER CHIEFS AND SUNDOWNS LADIES CROWNED THE 2026 ENGEN CHAMPION OF CHAMPS
The 2026 Engen Champ of Champs saw dominant performances from teams from Gauteng, as Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies claimed championship glory in the Under-18 Boys and Under-20 Girls divisions, respectively, with both sides returning to the winners’ podium after last lifting the trophy in 2024.
U18 BOYS DIVISION
Amakhosi crowned their campaign by clinching the title with a convincing 3-0 triumph over Mpumalanga-based East High Boys Academy.
Both teams’ journeys to the final were not straightforward, with Chiefs getting a slender 1-0 semifinal victory over resilient Antalyaspor JPM Cape Town. Meanwhile, East High secured their spot in the final after overcoming AmaZulu F.C on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
The final, however, belonged firmly to the Soweto giants, who turned their dominance into a convincing three-goal victory.
U20 GIRLS DIVISION
Sundowns Ladies capped off a flawless tournament to reclaim the title they last held two years ago, winning all six of their tournament matches without conceding a single goal.
Banyana Ba Style set the tone for a decisive final day with a ruthless 3-0 semi-final win over Superstrikers Ladies FC, setting up a showdown against RV United—who had edged Ixias Ladies 1-0 in their last-four tie. The final ultimately proved a step too far for RV United as Masandawana wrapped up a masterclass campaign with a commanding 2-0 victory
High stakes, fierce competition and future stars were on show once again, proving why the stage is proudly known as “Where Diski Legends Start” – a vital platform for young talent to shine as they take the next steps towards their footballing futures.
